In 1865 Okada Izo was a Samurai Warrior from a low-class family. His talent as a swordsman was discovered by a powerful Tosa Lord, and Imperial supporter who recruited Izo as an assassin. Under his guidance Izo kills many of the Shogun's men.
Izo was later crucified for his crimes, and became the incarnation of a deep-seated grudge when his soul could not enter Heaven or Hell. His restless soul then traveled beyond time and space to modern day Tokyo.
Filled with deception, despair, and an insatiable murderous anger he unleashes upon those whose predecessors put him to death, his response is the sword....
