In the Japanese underworld of the 17th century, groups specializing in assassinations were formed. These were called Hunters in Darkness, and would perform assassinations for a fee.
Based on a novel by Ikenami Shotaro, this film is another of Gosha's masterworks. Brilliant fighting, highlighted by a remarkable performance by Harada Yoshio (The Hunted), and Sonny Chiba in one of his best Samurai roles make this an awesome motion picture.
