Japan has a rich history told through films, but one of the most filmed stories is The Great Bodhissatva Pass. The story of Tsukue Ryunosuke, a master swordsman with an evil style, reflecting all the evil in his heart. His ruthless ways and merciless killings leave behind an unsettled past which eventually catches up with him.
Kataoka Chiezo reprises his role as Ryunosuke, he expertly portrays the slightly sad, and sometimes mad swordsman, pursued by the youthful Hyoma (Nakamura Kinnosuke), who is hell bent on revenge for the slaying of his older brother.
This is the full trilogy going further than all other versions. Learn what happens to Ryunosuke after the night of blood and flames.
The conclusion of the famed Jidaigeki series is an amazing film, with a completely different perspective on the story from the later versions.
