One of Japan's most popular folklore characters, Tange Sazen, the One-eyed and
One-armed swordsman, must rescue the Yagyu Clan from the treachery of a Master
plotting to take over their postion as the Shogun's sword instructors.
This is generally
considered the definitive version of the story, with some unusual twists and turns along
the way. Otomo Ryutaro is best known for his role as the One-armed one-eyed ronin
with the mysterious past; and the colorful cast includes singing star Misora Hibari who
was immensely popular at that time. Okawa Hashizo (who is best known as ’Aoi
Shingo’ of the ”Shingo’s Challenge” series co-stars as the noble young Yagyu clan heir.
