This is a rare classic Samurai film. Kenji Misumi (director of the Lone Wolf and Cub series, Destiny's Son and others) brings his sumptuous visual style to this story. Ichikawa Raizo plays a young man reputed to be half dog.
He also has a green thumb like you wouldn't believe! When he learns to kill, in addition to his gardening skills, and his unreal running speed, he becomes a formidable assassin.
